Pain & Injury Treatment in Bideford
Whether you’re struggling with an injury, recurring aches or ongoing pain, we’ll take the time to understand what’s bothering you and find the right approach to help you move forward.
Reduce Pain. Move More Freely. Get Back to Doing What You Enjoy.
Pain Treatment That Starts With You
Pain can affect much more than how you feel. It can change the way you move, stop you exercising, interfere with work and make everyday activities more difficult than they should be.
At The Hive in Bideford, our approach to pain and injury treatment starts by listening to you. We’ll look at what you’re experiencing, how you move and what may be contributing to the problem before deciding on the most appropriate way forward.
Everyone is different, so there’s no one-size-fits-all treatment. Depending on your needs, your treatment may include soft tissue therapy, dry needling, medical acupuncture, ultrasound therapy, massage and other hands-on techniques.
The Pain & Stiffness Reset
If pain, stiffness or muscle tension is getting in the way of everyday life, our Pain & Stiffness Reset is a great place to start.
Your session is tailored to you and may include hands-on treatment to release tight muscles, targeted treatment around problem areas and practical advice to help you maintain the benefits between appointments.
Our aim isn’t simply to provide short-term pain relief. We want to help you move more comfortably, understand your body better and, where appropriate, progress into exercise and injury rehabilitation to build strength and confidence for the longer term.
From Pain Treatment to Rehabilitation
For some people, hands-on treatment is only the first part of the journey.
Once pain has settled and movement starts to improve, the next step may be exercise and injury rehabilitation. This allows us to work on movement, strength and confidence so you can get back to everyday activities, exercise or the things you enjoy doing.
Because treatment and rehabilitation are available together at The Hive, you don’t have to start again with someone new when your needs change.

Pain & Injury Treatment FAQs
What types of pain and injuries can you help with?
We work with people experiencing a wide range of problems, including back pain, neck and shoulder pain, knee and hip pain, muscle tension, arthritis-related discomfort, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis and general aches and stiffness. If you’re unsure whether we can help with your particular problem, get in touch and talk to us before booking.
Can you help with chronic or recurring pain?
Yes. We regularly work with people who have been experiencing pain for some time or find that the same problem keeps returning. Chronic pain treatment will depend on your individual circumstances and may involve hands-on treatment, advice and, where appropriate, exercise rehabilitation to improve movement, strength and confidence.
What treatments do you use for pain and injuries?
Every treatment plan is different. Depending on your needs, we may use techniques including soft tissue therapy, massage, dry needling, medical acupuncture and ultrasound therapy. We’ll explain the options and choose an approach based on your symptoms, movement and individual goals.
What happens at my first pain treatment appointment?
Your first appointment gives us time to understand what’s been happening. We’ll talk about your symptoms and how they affect everyday life, look at your movement and discuss the most appropriate treatment plan. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions and understand what the next steps may involve.
Do I need a GP referral for pain or injury treatment?
No. You can contact The Hive and book an appointment directly without a GP referral. If you’re unsure whether our service is appropriate for your symptoms, contact us first and we can discuss the best way forward.
Can treatment be combined with exercise rehabilitation?
Yes. This is an important part of The Hive approach. Depending on your needs, you may begin with treatment to reduce pain and improve movement before progressing into exercise and injury rehabilitation. This can help you rebuild strength, improve confidence and work towards getting back to the activities you enjoy.
